Library service changes

On 6 September 2020, the Premier announced Victoria’s COVID-19 roadmap to reopening. Many of the Stage 4 restrictions remain in place, and all Glen Eira Libraries are closed until health restrictions are lifted. Due to high demand, in the short term, we can deliver reserved items to library members who reside in the City of Glen Eira only. Library chutes are open 24 hours a day. Where you can borrow

Borrow from:

Loan periods and Borrowing items limit 

In light of the current Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic we have made changes to borrowing and loan periods during these tough times.

  • No overdue fees
  • No reservation fees 
  • Use our Pick and Deliver service to borrow from our physical collections
  • Borrow from our e-book, e-audio, digital magazines and other online collections

Please note: you are also responsible for all items borrowed. If an item is lost or damaged a replacement fee, plus a processing charge applies.

Renewing loans

You can renew your items twice (up to three days after the due date):

  • Phone: 9524 3700 (10am-6pm, weekdays during closure)
  • Renew online

Please note: If your items are reserved, you won't be able to renew. Online renewals are available on or before the due date.

Late returns (No overdue charges during closure)

An overdue fee of 25 cents per item per day to a maximum of $10 per item applies.

Lost card

If you've lost a card, we can issue you with a new one. A replacement fee of $4 applies.
