Electric Wheelchair/Scooter Recharge Scheme
Glen Eira City Council is proud to announce the launch of a new Electric Wheelchair/Scooter Recharge Scheme across all Glen Eira library branches. This initiative provides accessible and convenient recharge points for electric wheelchairs and sit-on scooters/gophers.
Recharge points are now available at the following locations, during library opening hours:
- Carnegie Library: Two recharge points in the foyer.
- Bentleigh Library: Recharge point across from the ground floor Pod.
- Elsternwick Library: Recharge point on the back wall upstairs.
- Caulfield Library: Coming soon near the Young Adult collection.
The designated recharge points are clearly marked with signs that read “Mobility Scooter Recharging Station.” These points have been carefully chosen for their accessibility and ability to accommodate mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs.
Key Details:
- Free to use and no bookings required
- Mobility devices have priority at these points
- All users must supply a power chord/battery charger that is compliant.
- Charging is limited to one hour to allow fair and equal access for all users
The recharge points are the first phase of the program, with more locations, including GESAC, to follow soon.
