Sunshine Online

Teaching phonics and decoding skills for early reading success.

Sunshine Online features two extensive libraries, offering high-quality texts for children who are just beginning to read through to those developing fluency and independence.

The Decodable Library for beginning readers (4–7 years) includes 180 child-centred, decodable fiction and non-fiction titles. These books sequentially teach letter-sound correspondences (phonics) and decoding skills essential for early reading success.

Once children have mastered the letter-sound correspondences, they progress to the Levelled Library for developing readers (7–10 years), which offers over 900 engaging fiction and non-fiction texts arranged across three Learning Spaces.

Both libraries provide engaging and interactive learning. Children can:

  • Listen to any text being read, or they can read it independently.
  • Record themselves reading the text
  • Access activity worksheets, lesson plans, and assessments.
