Join Gail Holmes for an intimate discussion about her debut historical fiction novel, In the Margins. Inspired by the real-life Frances Wolfreston, a woman who dared to think, write, and defy expectations in 17th-century England.

In the Margins explores the sacrifices Frances made as an intellectual woman—risking everything to protect words, books and literature, including her efforts to preserve the only known copies of Shakespeare’s earliest works.

A must-attend event for fans of Tracy Chevalier or Pip Williams, this is a tale of resilience, passion, and the enduring power of literature to transcend time.

Moderated by Fi Wright, book reviewer for Triple R Breakfasters.

Suitable for ages 16 and up. Free event. Bookings required.

This event is part of the 2025 Glen Eira Storytelling Festival. For bookings and to view the full program, head to storytellingfestival.com.au
